With the cool breeze of autumn, Innovative Economic Symposium 2018 was held successfully at the foot of beautiful West Mountain. During the meeting, delegates from all over the world had extensive academic exchanges and discussions on topics "the relationship between globalization and anti - globalization", "the advantages and disadvantages of the 21st century global economy", and "current world economy and economic inequality". Also, many constructive views on the positive development of the economic and trade relations between China and central Europe were put forward. Upon the publication of this collection of essays by so many excellent scholars which have over years various research experiences, I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to them in preface.
This symposium was jointly sponsored by the North China University of Technology and the Institute of Technology and Business in Ceske Budejovice. It was also held against the overall backdrop of increasingly closer economic and trade ties between China and central Europe. The Czech Republic is one of the major countries in central Europe. China is one of the world''s largest developing countries while central Europe has Europe''s concentrated emerging markets. As two important economic entities in the world, China and central Europe are the "two major markets"for common development. In the long history, China and Central European countries have already established deep friendship through various economic cooperation, just as the proverb of Central Europe says, "Friendship is like wine: The older, the better. "Although there are differences between China and the Central European countries in social systems, national conditions, and cultures, the two sides, by virtue of their common desire and firm belief in developing friendly relations, have worked hard to deepen our cooperation.
