In order to promote international academic exchanges,publicize the achievements of China‘s international security studies,and enhance China’s international discourse capacity and its international influence,in 2015,the University of International Relations (UIR) launched the English journal International Security Studies that is the first English-language academic journal of its kind in China. The journal advocates the combination of theory and practice,original and diversified research perspectives,and communication between different academic viewpoints,aiming to provide a platform for international security researchers to publish their achievements,promote international security studies,build a bridge between security researchers and security decision-makers,and make theoretical contributions to world peace and security. Based on the principles and theories of international politics and international relations,this journal mainly reflects the academic achievements in the field of international security,focusing on the following issues:China‘s contemporary national security theories and thoughts;China’s national security history and traditional thinking;foreign countries‘ national security history,theories and thoughts;China’s foreign security relations,security strategies and policies;security relations between countries,and global and regional security situations;major countries‘ security and military strategies;non-traditional security issues;security issues concerning nuclear,chemical and biological security as well as space,ocean and IT;and the scientific and technological revolution and their relations to international security issues;etc.
This magazine follows the principle of self-responsibility,and the articles published only reflect the authors’ positions and points of view,and are only for readers reference.
